Types Of Hardwood Installation

Solid Hardwood Flooring Installation

Solid hardwood flooring is single boards cut from the same tree. These boards can be refinished multiple times, causing them to provide the same quality of performance and appeal that they owned when first installed even after decades. However, being real wood, they are most suitable for wood subfloors. This is because solid hardwood flooring requires traditionally requires nails. Installing it in a building with the concrete substrate will require the use of advanced glue like the Bostik’s Wood Advanced.

You can have your solid hardwood installed in various parts of your home or working space, from the living room, rooms, kitchen, dining, to the stairs. However, it is strongly recommended that you avoid installing it in areas below the grade or high in humidity and residual moisture like yourbasement and bathroom.

Fixing your hardwood floors in areas with higher humidity and residual moisture can lead to cupping as the wood absorbs the moisture and swell. However, exposing your wood to higher humidity before installing, can lead to wood contraction after installation. This is why it is recommended that you place your boards in the location you wish to install them and wait for 5-7 days to acclimate. This way, the wood acclimatizesto the humidity of the environment.

Engineered Hardwood Flooring Installation

Engineered wood is a flooring material made up of many layers. These layers consist of woods, polymers, and resin. It is then topped with a layer of real wood. This empowers the board with the right features to withstand various abuse and conditions.

This means that your engineered hardwood can be installed below and above grade. The polymers and resin in it allow it to withstand the higher humidity better. It also helps it reduce its contraction and expansion changes caused by fluctuation in temperature. Being that this floor is usually installed with an expansion room between its parameter, even its mild contractions and expansion go unnoticed.

However, you cannot sand and refinish an engineered wood like you would a solid wood. Most engineered woods even come with thinner real wood, surface area and cannot be refinished. This means that at some point, your wood tends to lose its brilliance and performance.

Engineered woods can be nailed, glued, or snapped into place with grooves for a floating floor experience. Hence, you can have it installed on all kinds of subfloors, which makes it perfect for homes and businesses trying to invoke the feeling of nature and warmth in their space.

Engineered flooring always come prefinished. That means, after our installation, you no longer have to do anything to keep the floor in prime condition.

Staircase Hardwood Flooring Installation Orlando

Regardless of where your staircase is positioned, it remains one of the structures in the home that immediately commands attention. Hence, it serves as the right place to cement your style and personality.

Alternatively, you can utilize this bold centerpiece as the right object to effectively show the transition of your floor upstairs to that downstairs. Whichever option you decide to go for, there are various hardwoods to choose from. Hence, you can find the right combination to make your home standout.

Sometimes, you might want to use other alternatives to hardwood for your staircase like carpet. However, unlike hardwood, these other alternatives tend to wane quickly. This is something you should consider carefully as thestair is the most trafficked area in your home. It should be able to withstand the abuse and pressure for years to come.

Hardwoods are known for their durability. When properly selected and installed, you can wake up to the same brilliance and performance even after several years. Some can be sanded and refinished multiple times, making it almost a lifetime companion for your home.

I've used this company on many occasions and can always count on them to show up, do the work and make my rehab projects go smoother. They don't need to be prodded to do the work and I don't have to go behind them to clean up. Once they leave, but for the materials etc being gone, you wouldn't even know there were there.
